Nice neighbors

I love getting home from work to find my garbage can stowed away, right where it should be.  On garbage days my neighbor usually beats me home and I frequently pull in and realize, yup, she's done it again.  Such a simple act but oh, so nice.  There's a lot of good in this world.

  1. Aww. We have a nice garbage man. On garbage day, we've run out after having forgotten to set our can out twice! He saw us and backed up and got our garbage. And he used to wave and honk when he saw the girls and I playing outside (back in the good old warm weather days.) I felt like singing, "The garbage man's a person in yer neighborhood- in yer neighborhood- in yer neighborhooooood..."

  2. I love it when people go the extra mile. Sure he's busy. Sure it might extend his route -- oh, maybe four minutes. Kindness is becoming a lost art for some, while others are kindness personified.

  3. It's funny how little things like that really do mean so much. Too often we think that to show someone we care we need to do something huge and amazing. It's nice to be reminded that little thoughtful things are important, too.

  4. That seriously is so nice. That would so make my day. Our neighborhood they just run them over with their cars if they are left out.
